Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am currently using an Internet service with a Dial-up connection. How much faster is NETMAXX compared to what I am using now?

A: There are many factors that influence the delivery of data, especially when you are on the Internet. These factors can include how busy the Internet is at the time you're using it, as well as the number of hits the site you are visiting is getting. The kind of computer equipment you are using is another factor. As advertised throughout our website, NETMAXX offers speeds up to 40x faster than the traditional Dial-Up connections. Computers with better system setups experience faster speeds than those with older setups.

Q: Will I need a second phone line to have NETMAXX?

A: NO NEED FOR ANY PHONE LINE! NETMAXX service is delivered to your computer through a direct connection from our integrated modem/antenna unit that makes the service so easily available.

Q: I hear the term “Broadband” a lot. What exactly IS Broadband?

A: More information can be transmitted in a given amount of time with a Broadband connection. A Broadband connection to the Internet provides faster access to the Internet and more and varied media services that other services can’t provide.

Q: How is NETMAXX different from DSL or cable?

A: NETMAXX, DSL, and cable are all three broadband technologies. There are differences between them, some of which are outlined below:

  1. DSL is a telephone modem technology provided to your house through traditional copper wiring. You have to live in an area AND have a home phone line that is DSL-ready to get DSL service.

  2. There are two other things you should know about DSL and speed.

    1. DSL slows down the further you live from their facilities.

    2. DSL's "dedicated" connection is only for the short distance between your home
and their facilities. From that point on, it is pooled with all other traffic.

  3. Cable modem technology is available to you IF your area has cable service AND your cable provider has made it available to your area.

  4. NETMAXX provides a direct connection to the Internet without the need for a hard-wire connection.

  5. NETMAXX has a 30-day money back guarantee. Other programs lock you into a long-term contract before you even have the opportunity to see how the service performs.
Q: How many email accounts will I get and how do I set them up?

A: Each broadband account includes two FREE email accounts. Additional email accounts are available at the rate of $5.00 per month per account. There are four options for setting up and using your NETMAXX email system: The technician installing your service may set up your email account; you may set it up yourself; a customer service representative may walk you through the set-up process over the phone; or you may choose to access your account on the NETMAXX web-mail system that does not require set-up and may be accessed from systems outside the NETMAXX network.

Q: Can I send email to anyone, or just other NETMAXX customers?

A: You can receive and send email to anyone, anywhere with NETMAXX!

Q: We'd like to have our kid's computers and the family computer connected to NETMAXX. Do you offer any type of networking?

A: You may connect your Broadband service to a router and distribute the service to multiple computers in your home.

Q: What’s the charge for connecting more computers in my home?

A: Routers are not expensive and can be installed quickly. There are routers available to meet different budgets and needs.

Q: Can you connect games?

A: YES! All of these systems work over the NETMAXX connection: Nintendo, Play Station, XBOX, Wii, and MORE!!!

Q: Can I download music and videos?

A: You have access to all of these.

Q: What about customer service?

A: Providing customers with quality service is our number one goal! You will talk to a real person any time you call our office and we ensure that your problem is resolved to your satisfaction!
